W\u00f6rtlich w\u00fcrde &#8222;Ich trank gerade nicht&#8220; im Englischen mit &#8222;Ich war nicht trinkend&#8220; (I was not drinking) \u00fcbersetzt werden. Meist wird es in Verbindung mit dem <i>Simple Past<\/i> benutzt. Hierbei wird bezieht sich das Simple Past auf eine <i>kurze punktuelle<\/i> Handlung in der Vergangenheit, die eine l\u00e4nger andauernde unterbricht.
